MAY 12 - RBI Native founder Mike Grimes announced today that Lisa Moss has been named to the RBI Native Advisory Board.
Moss is a dedicated educator and softball coach with 20 years of experience in Oklahoma schools. A proud member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, she brings a strong sense of community, leadership, and cultural pride to her work both in the classroom and on the field.
Always on the hunt for a new challenge, Moss recently accepted the head softball coaching position at Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Okla. She spent the previous four years at Piedmont High School, where she was part of a coaching staff that won three 6A state championships and earned a state runner-up finish. Her coaching career has been marked by a commitment to excellence, teamwork, and student growth.
Moss holds a bachelor’s degree from Bacone College in Muskogee and a master’s degree in Education Administration from the University of Kansas.
Moss is married to Anthony Moss, and together they have two children; Turner, a rising freshman at Cleveland High School, and Taybor, who is continuing her academic and athletic career next fall playing softball at Washburn University. Taybor was the 2024 recipient of the inaugural Allie P. Reynolds Citizenship Award and Scholarship and was the first Native American high school softball player in the country to sign an NIL deal (with Moore Bats out of Wilton, Calif.).
Coach Moss says she looks forward to bringing her experience, passion, and leadership to the RBI Native team.
“I am excited of the opportunities that RBI Native can create within the Native baseball and softball community,” Moss said. “The totality of programming sponsored by RBI Native will provide a platform for our youth to excel as athletes, scholars and community leaders.”
Grimes says that RBI Native is honored to Moss to the advisory board.
“Lisa is a tremendous addition to our team and her character and enthusiasm are going to be a tremendous asset as we build something special within the Native softball community,” Grimes said. “She is a born coach, teacher and mentor, we are blessed to have her join our team.”
